Architect Ed Eubanks will lead this tour of Galveston Island. He will tell us about the families who were instrumental in the early development of Galveston and those who have carried on their early cultural ambitions.

Our day trip via motor coach will include visits to the newly-restored Galveston Arts Center and recently-completed Bryan Museum. We will stop at the Harbor House Theater to see Grant Mitchell’s documentary “The Great Storm” about the 1900 hurricane that changed Galveston forever, and tour John Staub’s 1928 William C. Helmbrecht house. We will have lunch at the exclusive Galveston Artillery Club.

Longtime Houston and Galveston architect Ed Eubanks has been active in such Galveston groups as the President’s Cabinet and Development Board at the University of Texas Medical Branch, the Development Board of the Galveston Historical Foundation, Knights of Momus, Grand 1894 Opera House, Galveston Arts Center, and the Ronald McDonald House at UTMB.
