Accompanied by architectural historian Stephen Fox, the Houston Seminar will explore the Fort Worth area’s most notable public and private spaces. We begin with a visit to the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas by architect Renzo Piano. From there we travel to Fort Worth for architectural visits to the three striking art museums designed by Philip Johnson, Louis I. Kahn, and Tadao Ando, and a visit to the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens, a New Deal–era landscape by Hare & Hare. We will have access to a treasuretrove of houses designed by outstanding architects of the twentieth century including Paul Rudolph, I.M. Pei, David Adler, and John Staub.
