January 29 — Peter Bishop: Thinking about the Future Without a Crystal Ball
Today, the present tumbles rapidly into the past, and we need new tools to think about what is to come. Dr. Peter Bishop will help us understand and anticipate the future. He is chair of the graduate program in studies of the future at the University of Houston – Clear Lake, president of Strategic Foresight and
Development, and a consultant to the Center for Houston’s Future.

February 5 — Stephen Murdock: Texas of the Future
How will Texans live and work in the 21st century? Dr. Stephen Murdock will tell us about surprising trends and developments that will have important implications for education, work, and families in our state. He is a Regents Professor and head of the department of rural sociology at Texas A&M University. He is also the official State Demographer of Texas.

February 12 — Derek Woodgate: The New Generation Gap
How will younger generations differ from their parents and grandparents, even as they too grow older? What changes can we anticipate in their music, their games and their values? Derek Woodgate is a founding member of the Association of Professional Futurists and founder and principal of the Futures Lab, Austin, Texas.

February 19 — Peter Bishop: The Future of Houston and Its Quality of Place
The Center for Houston’s Future recently concluded a study of how Houston might develop toward the year 2025. Dr. Bishop will discuss the possible developments and the issues they raise for our city. This session should be interactive…after all, it is our future!
