Lawther-Deer Park Prairie: Pristine Urban Survivor Walking Tour: POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER. 

NEW DATE: Friday, May 7, 8:30-10:30 A.M. 

Della Barbato, director of education for the Lawther Prairie, and Kirsti Harms, executive director of the Native Prairie Association of Texas and expert ornithologist, will be our guides as we search for the rare snowy orchid and nodding ladies-tresses as well as more commonly found forbs, flowers, and grasses.

Please read these important instructions:

We will meet at the Deer Park Prairie House at 1222 E Purdue Lane, Deer Park, TX 77536. Please note this facility looks like and is a residence. Parking is along the street adjacent to College Park Elementary. Please do not park on the street in front of residences.

What to bring:

1) Please fill out and sign this liability form for all persons walking on prairie: NPAT Field Trip Liability Waiver

2) Please wear Closed-Toed Shoes, RUBBER BOOTS if it has rained at all in the last few days. Socks and long pants for prairie walking and activities. No person goes onto prairie with open toes. You can bring your comfy shoes to change back in to.

3) Please wear a mask.

4) Water bottle. We will have some light snacks in case people get peckish.

4) Recommended: Sunscreen, hat, umbrella (for protection from sun), insect repellent (some will be provided), long-sleeved shirt, and binoculars.
