Rainey Knudson

Rainey Knudson is the founder of Glasstire, the oldest online-only art magazine in the country. In 2019, she stepped down as publisher of Glasstire after 18 years at the helm. She edited the 2021 book One Thing Well: 22 Years of Installation Art, about Rice Gallery. Rainey has written for Texas Monthly, the University of Texas at Austin, the National Endowment for the Arts, and other places. Her blog The Impatient Reader can be found on Substack, and her forthcoming book The MFAH 100, featuring 100 works from the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, will be published in late 2025. Rainey also can be seen sometimes telling stories live at The Moth in Houston. (Fall 2025)
