Cory Rogge

Corina E. Rogge has been the Andrew W. Mellon research scientist at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and the Menil Collection since 2013. She earned a B.A. in chemistry from Bryn Mawr College,a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Yale University and has held postdoctoral positions at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and the University of Texas Health Sciences Center (Houston). Before joining the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, she was the Andrew W. Mellon Assistant Professor in Conservation Science in the Department of Art Conservation at State University of New York Buffalo State College. She is a Professional Associate of the American Institute for Conservation and an Associate Editor for the Journal of the American Institute for Conservation.

As the only conservation scientist at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston and the Menil Collection Cory is responsible for the investigation of many different types of cultural heritage objects.  Particular areas of concentration include technical and material analyses of Abstract Expressionist painters Barnett Newman and Franz Kline, Brazilian art from the 1950-60s, Fayum portraits and 19th century tintype photographs.
